How do you get on the island?
- There is a car ferry that runs from the town of DeTour to Drummond Island. The ferry operates year-round every day of the week. The ride is 5-10 minutes long. The schedule and round trip rates can be found here here

- There are several marinas and boat docks if you travel by your own boat. We offer docking here at the Resort. Call (906) 493-1000 for details
How do you get to the resort once off the ferry?
You will follow 134 to a four way stop in town. At the stop sign continue straight to until you reach Maxton Cut Across. At Maxton Cut Across you will make a left and follow down to the end of the road. At the end of the road, you will make a right turn onto Maxton Rd. The resort will be about a ¼ mile down the road on your left-hand side.
Does the hotel charge a resort or facility fee?
There is a 6% resort fee for the maintenance and upkeep of resort amenities.
How many restaurants does the hotel have onsite?
We have two full-service restaurants. Pins Bar and Grill which is open year-round, is a casual dining atmosphere and features the Upper Peninsula’s largest bar! Pins also offers an outdoor Beer Garden, and a private dining area for larger groups and/or events. The menu can be found here (insert link to webpage with live menu). Bayside Dining which is open Spring, Summer, and Fall features an upscale waterfront dining experience. Bayside’s menu is ever changing to offer the freshest locally sourced ingredients. Bayside can also be rented out for special events. The 19 th Hole, located in our pro shop features a full bar and grab and go snacks, pizza by the slice, and hot dogs.
Do either of your restaurants offer breakfast?
Neither one of our restaurants are open for breakfast.
Do you serve a continental breakfast?
Yes, a continental breakfast is served daily from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the hotel upper lobby.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is 4 pm Check out is 11 am.
Does the hotel offer room service?
We do not offer room service however Pins Bar and Grill is located right next to the lodge and offers food and drinks to go or dine in. We also have Bayside Dining located by the waterfront on property that is open seasonally. The 19th Hole located in our Pro-shop offers drinks to go and snacks.
Does the hotel offer parking?
There is free car parking at every rental cabin and a large lot behind the lodge. For overflow and trailer parking there is a parking lot across the street from Pins Bar & Grill.
Parking trailers at rental cabins is prohibited.
Does the hotel have a pool?
- We have an outdoor pool that is open from Memorial Day – Labor Day and is open for all lodge and cabin guests.
- There is also a dry sauna that is open year-round.
Does the hotel have a Fitness Center?
The fitness center is located in the lodge and is open 24/7.
Is the hotel pet-friendly?
All of our lodge rooms and nearly all of our cabins are pet friendly. There is a $50 per stay pet cleaning fee for lodge rooms and a $75 per stay pet cleaning fee for cabins.
A maximum of two pets are allowed in each rental unit.
Are you open in the winter?
Yes! Our resort is open year-round. Drummond Island truly is four season Wonderland! There is something to do no matter the season!
Is there a minimum age requirement to rent a room?
You must be 21 years of age to rent a room.
What is the required deposit?
A 50% deposit is required upon booking for all rental cabins, the remainder is charged upon arrival. There is no deposit required for lodge rooms.
What is your lodge cancellation policy?
Cancellations can be made 72 hours or more before arrival with no penalty or cancellation fee. Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to arrival will have a penalty fee equal to the cost of a one-night room stay plus the taxes and fees. No shows will be charged one night room stay plus the taxes and fees.
What is your cabin cancellation policy?
- Cabins April 1st through October 31st: All cancellations made within 13 days of arrival will forfeit their deposit, if
the cancellation is made prior to the 13-day window there is a $25
processing fee, but the rest of the deposit will be refunded. No shows
will be charged 100% of stay. - Cabins November 1st through March 31st: All cancellations made within 7 days of arrival will forfeit their deposit, if
the cancellation is made prior to the 7-day window there is a $25
processing fee, but the rest of the deposit will be refunded. No shows
will be charged 100% of stay. - Reservations can be changed or moved pending availability without a fee.
Do you have cribs or cots available?
No we do not.
Does the resort have rules for guests?
Yes, there are rules of the resort that the guest acknowledges in the registration paperwork. There are fines and possible eviction associated with violating those rules.
Is the use of fireworks permitted?
The use of fireworks is not permitted on property. Quiet hours are enforced between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Can I drive my off-road vehicle on property?
The use of side by side and ATV’s is permitted on the resort roads. However, ATV’s and side by side cannot drive across or park on grass areas.

What cabins have wood burning fireplaces?
Russell cabin, Hermitage cabin, Frohlich cabin, McCarthy cabin, Deertrack 44, Bayside 1, Bayside 10.
Is there cell phone service on Drummond Island?
The only cell phone service that works well on the island is AT&T. Even service with AT&T can be spotty in some areas. We suggest enabling your wi-fi calling on your cell phone.
Is there a beach on property?
There is a beach located on property in front of Bayside Dining. There are lounge chairs and picnic tables for guest use.
How big is Drummond Island?
Drummond Island is the second largest freshwater island in the United States. It covers 129 square miles of land and 120 square miles of water.
How do I rent dock space?
Please call the lodge at 906-493-1000 to reserve dock space. You will be asked the size of your boat to make sure you are placed in the appropriate dock. We have daily, weekly and seasonal rates available for dockage.
What is provided in the rental cabins?
All rental cabins are equipped with towels, linens and a few complimentary toiletry products. Pots, pans, glassware, utensils, dishes and dish soap are also provided. Each cabin has coffee, creamer and sugar.
