Josh & Julie ~ Married July 8, 2017

Ceremony, Martini Deck ~ Reception, Bayside

Photographer: Rebecca Kenny – Rockhill Studio

Julie and Josh’s wedding took place on the beautiful Drummond Island, at the Drummond Island Resort, always a favorite of ours to photograph at!! Located just a short ways from Traverse City, this island is such an adventure, from the ferry ride over, to the wild nature of the land, and a hundred other things that make having a wedding here so special.  Drummond Island has a very special meaning to Julie and Josh and their wedding was an absolute dream.  The flowers (oh goodness, the brides bouquet alone was a showstopper!), the chuppa, the location, the food…it was all amazing and made for an incredible day.  Absolutely a favorite of ours from this season!!

Ethan & Kelsey ~ Married June 10, 2017

Ceremony, Outdoor Chapel ~ Reception, Bayside

Photographer: Lisa Hunter

“From the moment Ethan and I stepped into the outdoor chapel, we knew that was the place we had to have our ceremony: the tall pine trees, glimpses of the lake beyond, the mossy carpet at our feet–truly magical!  We had always dreamed of a simple yet elegant wedding with the closest of our family, a wedding that would be breathtaking without getting carried away with all the crazy expensive traditions out there.  At Drummond Island Resort we found just that.  The staff spoiled us from day one, making sure our every need and fancy were met. The cabins were perfect for our friends and family to stay and be near each other and to enjoy the nature of the Island.  Much to our good fortune, June turned out to be the perfect time of year for an outdoor wedding in the far North–not too hot and not too cold.  We are just thrilled to share with everyone how wonderful our time was–hopefully, we started a trend of couples choosing destination weddings!”

Lyndsae & Doug ~ Married 2016

Ceremony, Outdoor Chapel ~ Reception, Tent & Brooder House

Photographer: Rock Hill Studios

“Drummond Island Resort & Conference Center was the first venue Doug and I decided to visit. We fell in love with the venue from the moment we pulled on the property, and quickly figured out we didn’t need to look anywhere else! You won’t find a better place that is more flexible and truly honored to host your wedding. There are so many different options available for the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, and the reception to fit your vision that make this the perfect place to tie the knot.
A lot of our guests were traveling from out of town and had never even been to the U.P.! Our guests definitely took advantage of the amenities the resort had to offer and commented throughout the weekend on how beautiful the area was and how they had such a great time over the whole weekend.
We decided to rent two cabins for the wedding party. It worked out perfect. The girls were able to get ready in one, hair, make-up, everything! While the guys took over a cabin next door. It also worked out great for the photographer to bounce back and forth.
The staff was so great and did everything they could to help and make sure everything was perfect. One obstacle we had to overcome was, it poured. (of course it did, rain is good luck right?), and not long after dinner, it rained even harder. There was a river running straight toward the dance floor. The staff promptly started moving tables, chairs, and the DJ into the Brooder House without skipping a beat. We were so grateful to have that as a back up plan plus, the Brooder House is super cute!
We were beyond happy with our choice to get married here and will definitely be returning for getaway weekends.”

Michelle & Allen ~ Married 2015

Ceremony, Martini Deck ~ Reception, Tent

“We absolutely loved EVERYTHING about our wedding over at your resort, you all made our dreams come true! We wouldn’t have changed a thing and have nothing but good things to say about your staff and your place. It made our special day perfect.”

Lauren & Taylor ~ Married 2015

Ceremony, Martini Deck ~ Reception, Brooder House

Photographer: Rita Spiegelberg

“Our wedding at Drummond Island was a relaxed bride and groom’s paradise. The days leading up to the wedding were spent playing golf, riding bikes, renting kayaks, playing corn-hole and cards by the pool. Our experience was a true northern Michigan experience.
We were welcomed by friendly staff and our wedding planner, Amy, was on top of everything. From the months leading up to the actual day, we knew we were in good hands. On our wedding day we had breakfast at Pins, spent some time in the sauna, and went for a hike around the resort. Everything was set up beautifully in the reception and ceremony area. There was no need to decorate because the natural landscape was more than enough decoration for us.
Before the ceremony we met by the pond cottages to take our pictures then we moved to the bayside before I walked down the aisle. The reception in the rustic lodge was very homey and pleasing to our guests. We can’t say enough wonderful things about our wedding at Drummond Island Resort.”

Jennifer & Brent ~ Married 2000

Ceremony, Outdoor Chapel

We were married at the resort on August 27, 2000. Never having been to the island before, we were unsure of what to expect. But we had been told so many wonderful things that we went forward with our plans to be married there with hopeful hearts. Little did we know, Drummond Island, and the resort in particular, would turn out to be the most special and cherished place in our lives.
Not many married couples are blessed to be able to return to their honeymoon destination again for their anniversary, let alone year after year, but Drummond Island made such an impact on us that we have done just that for 16 years and will continue to do so throughout our lives. The resort was such a beautiful place to be married at the outdoor chapel on the waterfront. We have taken a picture at the chapel every year on our anniversary and share a smile and our memories looking back at our lives together over the past 16 years.
The Drummond Island Resort and Conference Center did a fantastic job of handling the details of our wedding, meal afterwards and our honeymoon stay. While we had a very small, intimate ceremony, we have no doubt that they would handle a larger affair with equal class and satisfaction. We cannot say enough good things about our experiences with the resort and employees through the years.
With sincere hearts we thank you all for the happiest of memories,

~ Jennifer & Brent

Kristin & Travis ~ Married 2015

Ceremony, Martini Deck ~ Reception, Brooder House

[

The Drummond Island Resort & Conference Center was pleased to host Kristin & Travis’ wedding. It was a beautiful day to get married as they said their vows on the Martini Deck overlooking Lake Huron surrounded by friends and family. Their joy and happiness was apparent and shown in all aspects of their wedding and we will never forget the truly unique way they left the ceremony on a motorcycle!
